DALLAS and AUSTIN (October 6, 2022)—Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Stephanie Loomis-Price has joined the firm’s Personal Planning practice as partners in the firm’s Dallas and Austin offices, respectively. The partner is as chair of the firm’s Tax & Fiduciary Litigation Industry Group.

The addition of Stephanie continues the strategic growth of the firm’s presence and client capabilities in Texas. The Tax & Fiduciary Litigation Industry Group provides counsel to clients on tax controversy matters, including litigation, and has deep experience representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the U.S. Tax Court, and other state and federal courts. The group represents financial institutions, individual trustees, personal representatives, and individuals in complex tax controversy matters.

“We’re excited to add Stephanie to our national practice and know their experience and focus will significantly benefit our clients in Texas and beyond,” said Scott Wallace, the firmwide chair of Perkins Coie’s Personal Planning practice. “Tax controversy matters are increasingly complex, and Stephanie’s litigation strengths will be highly valuable to clients with matters before the IRS, the U.S. Tax Court, and other state and federal courts.”

Stephanie litigates high-stakes cases and advises a wide range of clients, including executors, trustees, and beneficiaries, as well as business owners and families, in tax-related litigation and audit risk mitigation strategies. She also advises clients on federal gift and estate tax litigation, as well as state fiduciary and probate controversy matters. Stephanie has practiced in front of the IRS, the U.S. Tax Court, county probate courts in Texas, several U.S. courts of appeals, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

“Perkins Coie continues to expand its Texas presence across a range of practices in response to robust client demand, and we’re thrilled to welcome Stephanie to our growing team,” said Jill Louis, the managing partner of the firm’s Dallas office. “Abigail and Stephanie’s deep understanding of personal planning matters will help our clients to successfully navigate a complex compliance landscape.”

“We’re thrilled to further advance our Texas growth with Stephanie and that she chose to join us in Austin and Dallas,” said Andy Smetana, the managing partner of the firm’s Austin office. “We continue to make strategic investments and additions to meet client demand, and their practice will complement other areas of focus for our office and firm, including our legal counsel to entrepreneurs and founders.”

Stephanie joins Perkins Coie from Winstead PC.

Stephanie earned her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, her B.A., with honors, from Austin College, and her M.S. from John Hopkins University.
