PORTLAND, Ore. (May 5, 2015) - Perkins Coie announces with sadness the death of Portland colleague and friend Carrie Murray on May 3, 2015, age 34.
Carrie was an associate in the firm’s corporate practice. Her work involved issues facing emerging companies, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and public financing. She gained valuable experience at the Small Business Clinic at the University of Oregon School of Law, where she was awarded the Dean Orlando John Hollis Scholar Award for Academic Excellence and graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif.
Carrie was a founding member of the University of Oregon School of Law’s Student Division of the Federal Bar Association and was a fellow of the Oregon Child Advocacy Project while in law school. She provided time, energy and counsel to the University of Oregon School of Law, 1L Mentoring Program and the St. Vincent DePaul, Second Chance Renters Program.
Carrie was known by many for her perpetual optimism and good cheer. She will be greatly missed by all.
